With so many athletes, completing the championship on time proved an obstacle, and the 100m Manikin Carry with Fins was cancelled. However, much thanks and praise is to be given to the competition committee and volunteers, for organizing and executing a well run event with so many athletes with limited space and time.
This year's winners were the Mississauga Lifesaving Club, who repeat as champions. The competition between the top three clubs was very close, with the Town of Saugeen Shores coming in 2nd, and the host Richmond Hill Lifesaving Club coming in 3rd only 12 points away. Full results are now available, and are posted in the results section of this website.
The LSS is looking for feedback on the competition, and the Sport Council will be discussing how to improve the competition for next year. We are also looking for any feedback on the changes made to this year's program (i.e. relay points equal to individual points, 100m options for masters and age groups, etc.).
Please don't hesitate to comment as we can only improve the sport with your feedback.
