The Town of Saugeen Shores captured the 2013 Ontario Lifesaving Pool Championships hosted by the Town of Tillsonburg. The 2012 runner-up squad from Saugeen Shores, defeated the defending champions from the Mississauga Lifesaving Club by 10 points. The two clubs greatly increased their point totals from the previous year in one of the most competitive lifesaving competitions ever seen. The 2012 hosts, the Richmond Hill Lifesaving Club, came in a strong 3rd place. Congratulations to the 29 competitors from Saugeen Shores for their well earned win. Results are now posted.
John Wyatt was elected the Ontario Lifesaving Society's Athlete Representative in October 2014. As Athlete Rep he sits on the Lifesaving Society's Sport Council at the Ontario Branch, and the Athletes Committee at the National Branch. His mandate is to represent the views of athletes in Ontario and vote on their behalf. His goal is to improve communication between athletes, their clubs, and the Society.
